Disconnect... And Let Go!

Image
The intention was simple - an escape from life; from the stress, commitments, the daily do’s and don’ts, noise in the head and in the city, just leave life behind for a while. 10 th  month of the year and I hadn’t treated myself with a trip. By trip I mean, all by myself for 4 days doing nothing but just letting it be with Nature.  Oct 13 th  – 27 th  turned out to be MY BEST time of the year. Happy Birthday to Me! You can call it my long extended birthday week, coz life surprised for 15 days straight. So it all started in May when our well planned summer trek to Valley of flowers got cancelled. I promised I would go away for my birthday, come what may. And for once it looked like Nature had it all planned for me. One week prior, I put down my papers, served a week’s notice at work and just googled for a few hours on the destination of the getaway. I owe it to my colleague who said “You can try this place Malvan, 200 kms from Ratnagiri, not sure if you want to travel so

A Walk Into The Once Upon A Time...

What does home really mean? A place that you feel belonged to? But then there might be more than one in the list! For few home is where family is; waking up to the milkman ringing the door bell, granny's special Masala Chai, mum's simplest food with that heavy dose of love or sharing the current affairs with dad.. For many all this comes in one package, unlike me for whom home food happens every time any friend's mum cooks; I cant remember the last time I had my mum's food, granny's tea happens once a blue moon and it will cost me oceans to have fights with dad.. Hence, I stick to this on city as home, where love is always been enough for me - Mangalore. The weekend that went by felt like a long walk into the past.. But just at the wrong hour the plan got cancell

Man Against Nature..

They are damn right when they say "Sometimes you just have to let Nature do the talking and wait to see how it surprises you in return." The weekend that went by was an absolute adventure with and against Nature.. Where         - Chomakund hills, Coorg Head count  - 24 Duration      - 2 days Team           - Nisarga (Nisarga Environmental Consciousness and Outdoor Leadership Trust) With everything planned much in advance, somehow things were not in our favor from the start. From a 22 seater AC Sleeper coach, it came down to 2 tempo travels after some mind churning calls by Karthik. Now its always fun when the whole lot is together; the fun gets divided once split. With negative vibes until the day of the trek, most of us thought it almost got cancelled. Looking back at all that happened, I now wonder what  would all of us have missed out on.. So yea, the journey was a lil quieter than usual, all of us (in our bus I mean) dozed off earlier than expected. Thanks
